http://bed.blogbus.com
http://bed.blogbus.com#archives
http://bed.blogbus.com#blogs
http://bed.blogbus.com#comments
http://bed.blogbus.com#diary
http://bed.blogbus.com#entries
http://bed.blogbus.com#friends

Bai Yiluo’s Solo Show: Animal Destiny
In this solo show at Marella Gallery Beijing, the artist Bai Yiluo will present his new series of digital prints. These works are skillful mosaic compositions realized through the usage of passport size photos assembled together in order to portray the twelve animals of the Chinese horoscope, guns and shooting machines, skulls and birds.
Throughout the exhibition, Bai Yiluo is talking about our lives, about our karma and destiny as animal being. On the earth, we all belong to the same category and, as living being, we all walk on our journey through life with no decisional power in front of what destiny has already written for us. The artist, through the usage of digital prints representing the twelve animals of the Chinese horoscope, wants to express the idea of fate that cannot be changed. Every animal is what we are, and is what establishes our destiny.
Together with this series, Bai Yiluo is presenting artillery tools realized with the same technique. With this work, he attempts to describe how our lives are strictly linked to objects. We all are objects; even an artist is a tool. He chose cruel and brutal tools to let us know his view on our existences’ value.
A skull then appears among the different images as to remember how short and brief are our lives that cannot but mirror the Chinese proverb “a plant seed in spring which flourishes in summer, and suddenly disappears when autumn arrives”. Precarious and evanescent is this life.
